GOICO´s MADNESS
I had a pleasure of meeting Carlos Goico, during one of his escapades at the sanitarium for the mentally ill in the Dominican Republic, where in addition to patient, he taught what he knows best, drawing and painting. I come to my house, as usual, loaded with papers, drawings alluding to kings, Madonnas and still life motives that are part of the vast production of this artist that although marginalized in their infancy and through his preferences, talent, and profuse use of colour's productivity has come to be called by th especialized art criticism of the country, the Dominican Van Gogh.
Carlos Goico died on 19th July 2009 in Santo Domingo, Dominican Republic.
